FullSizeRender-2On our third day, we started working on transcripting, translating, and reading files.  As we became more familiar with the criteria of the interviews and familiarized ourselves with the context of the writing, it became easier to recognize information and identify significant facts and experiences of the interviewees.  While the graduate students began their own independent research in the archives, the undergraduates worked directly with Professor Papademetriou on reading handwritten archives in Greek and translating them out loud in order to gain experience.  This proved to be challenging as each file often had several different types of handwriting.
